Account Deletion Request
We're sorry to see you go. If you wish to delete your Feelr account and associated data, you can do so directly from the app or by contacting us.
Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, you will not be able to recover your data, messages, or match history.
How to Delete Your Account
You have two options to delete your Feelr account:
Option A: Delete from the App (Recommended)
The fastest and easiest way to delete your account:
- Open the Feelr app and navigate to your Profile
- Scroll down to the Account section
- Tap on "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision when prompted
- Your account will be immediately deleted
Note: You will be asked to confirm twice to prevent accidental deletion.
Option B: Request Deletion via Email
If you cannot access the app, send an email to [email protected] with:
- Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- Your full name as it appears in the app
- Your phone number or Facebook ID used for login
- Brief reason for deletion (optional)
Email requests will be processed within 48 hours.

What Data Will Be Deleted
When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:

What Data May Be Retained
In certain circumstances, some data may be retained for legal, security, or operational purposes:
⚠ Temporarily Retained (30 Days)
- Backup copies: Data in backup systems may take up to 30 days to be fully deleted
- System logs: Server logs containing your interactions may be retained for up to 30 days during the deletion process
⚠ Retained for Legal Compliance
- Transaction records: If you made any payments, financial records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by law
- Legal disputes: If your account is involved in an ongoing legal matter, certain data may be retained until the matter is resolved
- Safety & security: Records of reported violations, abuse reports, or banned accounts may be retained to prevent fraud and protect other users
- Aggregated analytics: Anonymized and aggregated data that cannot identify you personally may be retained for statistical purposes

Alternative Options
Before deleting your account, you may want to consider these alternatives:
- Deactivate temporarily: You can log out and simply not use the app for a while. Your account will remain but you won't be visible to others.
- Update privacy settings: Adjust your privacy settings within the app to limit who can see your mood or contact you.
- Clear your data: You can manually delete your messages, unfriend contacts, and clear your profile information without deleting your account.
- Contact support: If you're experiencing issues, our support team may be able to help resolve them without requiring account deletion.
Your Rights
Under various privacy laws (including GDPR, CCPA), you have the right to:
- Request a copy of all data we hold about you before deletion
- Request deletion of your personal data (the "right to be forgotten")
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated

Impact on Other Users
When your account is deleted:
- Your friends will no longer see you in their contacts or friends list
- Your mood status will be immediately removed from the app
- Previous matches you had with other users will be removed from their match history
- Messages you sent will be deleted from both your account and recipients' accounts
- Any pending friend requests or match requests will be cancelled

A: No. Account deletion is permanent. If you want to use Feelr again in the future, you will need to create a new account.
Q: What if I change my mind?
A: If you delete your account through the app, the deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you submitted a deletion request via email, you can cancel it by emailing [email protected] within 48 hours of your initial request (before we process it).
Q: Will my friends be notified?
A: No, we do not send notifications to your friends when you delete your account. You will simply disappear from their friends list.

Q: Can I delete my account from within the app?
A: Yes! You can delete your account directly from the Profile screen in the app. Go to Profile → Account → Delete Account. This is the fastest method and takes effect immediately.
